 J​​ahnekque Blake, RMT is an honours graduate of the Canadian College of Massage and Hydrotherapy (CCMH) where she received an Advanced Diploma in Massage Therapy, awarded with special distinction in Sports Massage and Hospital placements. She also graduated from McMaster University with a Bachelor of Arts and soon after received a post-graduate designation in Workplace Wellness and Health Promotion from Centennial College. Jahnekque has participated in clinic rotations in the Brain & Spinal Cord Injury Rehab Program at the Toronto Rehabilitation Institute and in the Addictions Supportive Housing Program at Fife House Foundation.
Jahnekque has relevant sports experience through her many outreach positions as a Student Therapist at CCMH and the Canadian Sports Massage Therapists’ Association (CSMTA). She has treated athletes of all ages, pre and post-event, for beach volleyball, golf, gymnastics, cycling, and track & field. Outside of massage therapy, Jahnekque has also volunteered at track & field events as a Minor Official for Athletics Ontario, Sports Performance Testing for the Canadian Sports Institute of Ontario, Medical Staff for the 2018 London Summer Games and 2019 Winter Parasport Games in Durham Region. As of recently, she was welcomed as a First Responder/Massage Therapist for the 2019 Boston Marathon (post-event/finish line) and the Canadian Swimming Olympic Trials (pre-event/warm up). Jahnekque is dedicated to giving back to the sports community through medical coverage at games, sports massage therapy, and educating athletes on how to improve performance and prevent injury.
Jahnekque is in good standing with the College of Massage Therapists of Ontario, a member of the Canadian Sports Massage Therapists’ Association and the Registered Massage Therapists’ Association of Ontario.
