Andy de Sousa

Andy de Souza holds an Honours Bachelor of Applied Health Sciences – Athletic Therapy from Sheridan College and is a certified athletic therapist. After becoming an AT, he earned a diploma in Massage Therapy from the Ontario College of Health and Technology to become a registered massage therapist. 

Andy’s experience includes working with athletes in many sports including hockey, soccer, football, lacrosse, volleyball, rugby, cheerleading and ultimate frisbee in all levels from youth, to varsity, to professionals and into provincial, national, and international levels of competition. 

As an athletic therapist, massage therapist, and personal trainer, Andy uses his skills in clinical assessment to identify the root causes of a patient’s musculoskeletal conditions. Then, using

evidence-informed manual therapy techniques and movement-focused exercise progressions Andy helps patients to reduce their symptoms and work to improve quality of life and athletic performance. 

Andy is passionate about the sport of roller derby as a skater, coach and volunteer. He was the athletic therapist for Team Canada Junior Roller Derby when they went to Valence, France in 2023. He is a coach for the women’s national team and was a skater on the men’s national team in 2018 and 2020. He continues to train, coach, skate, and volunteer for teams and events around the world.
