What is Pelvic Floor Physiotherapy?

During a pelvic floor physiotherapy assessment, patients can expect a detailed history taking as well as a comprehensive hands-on evaluation of posture, movement/breathing patterns, low back/pelvis/hip screen and an internal examination of the pelvic floor musculature. Pelvic floor treatment is a very individualized mode of therapy and often includes a combination of education about environmental/ behavioural influences in addition to manual therapy and exercise for the correction of external and internal contributors to symptoms.
